AREWA REVIVAL PROJECT PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON SENATE PRESIDENT GODSWILL AKPABIO

Wuddeama Manga/ABUJA// The Arewa Revival Project (ARP), a leading northern grassroots advocacy and mobilization movement committed to national unity, democratic stability, and sustainable development, wishes to express its unwavering support and confidence in the leadership of the President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The recent developments within the Nigerian Senate have once again demonstrated the maturity, patience, and institutional leadership capacity of Senator Akpabio in managing parliamentary affairs in accordance with democratic principles and the Standing Rules of the Senate.

As the number three citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Senate President carries the constitutional responsibility of maintaining order, discipline, and decorum within the Red Chamber. We therefore commend his firm but responsible handling of legislative proceedings aimed at preserving the integrity and dignity of the National Assembly.

The Arewa Revival Project strongly believes that democracy can only thrive where rules are respected and where elected representatives conduct themselves with discipline and mutual respect, irrespective of political differences.

At a critical period when Nigerians expect greater legislative concentration on economic reforms, national security, youth empowerment, food security, infrastructure development, and support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, unnecessary confrontations capable of distracting the Senate from its constitutional duties should be discouraged.

We acknowledge Senator Akpabio’s commitment to legislative stability, national cooperation, and productive engagement between the Executive and Legislative arms of government. His leadership has continued to promote unity, inclusiveness, and constructive governance for the advancement of Nigeria.

The Arewa Revival Project therefore passes a strong vote of confidence on the leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and calls on all lawmakers to place national interest above personal disagreements while working collectively for the peace, stability, and progress of our dear country.

We also urge political stakeholders, youth groups, civil society organizations, and patriotic Nigerians to support responsible leadership and democratic institutions capable of strengthening national unity and sustainable development.

Nigeria’s democracy must remain guided by civility, respect for institutions, and commitment to national progress.
