LAGOS POLICE COMMAND, HEALTH SERVICE COMMISSION EXPLORE WAYS TO BOOST SECURITY IN HOSPITALS AND HEALTHCARE DELIVERY
By Olayiwola Ibrahim // Lagos // The Lagos State Police Command has restated its commitment to working closely with other government agencies to improve public safety and service delivery.
This was made known on when the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, received the leadership of the Lagos State Health Service Commission at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
The Health Commission team was led by its Chairman, Dr. Oguntimehin Olukayode.
Other members in attendance included Dr. Ogboye Olusegun Abayomi, Dr. Odunuga Omolaja Olushola, Dr. (Pharm.) Mrs. Adejumo Moyosore Wuraola, and Dr. Mrs. Ololade Fadipe.
During the engagement, discussions centred on how the Police can better support healthcare institutions across Lagos.
Key areas highlighted included the provision of adequate security for hospitals and medical personnel, protection of patients and property, and joint efforts to ensure smooth operations within health facilities statewide.
Speaking after the meeting, CP Tijani Fatai welcomed the delegation and described the visit as timely.
He assured that the Command remains open to collaboration that will directly impact the lives of Lagosians.
According to him, Inter-agency cooperation is the bedrock of effective governance.
When security agencies and health institutions work together, we can guarantee a safer environment and better service delivery for all residents of Lagos State.
The Chairman of the Health Service Commission, Dr. Oguntimehin, also expressed appreciation to the Police leadership for the warm reception and pledged the Commission’s readiness to partner with the Command on initiatives that promote health, safety, and public trust.
Both parties agreed to set up channels for continuous communication to address emerging security concerns in hospitals and to strengthen response mechanisms across the State.
