Sell Petrol Above N145 & Be Sanctioned, DPR Warns Oil Marketers

By Ola Simon, LOKOJA/Independent and major marketers of petrol have been told to desist from illicit act or face the consequence of their action.

The Controller of the Lokoja Branch of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Engineer Amos Jokodola gave the warning in Lokoja shortly after monitoring the level of compliance of of filling stations to the official price of n145 per liter.

Represented by the Acting Operations Controller, Rotarian Jibril Mamud, the Controller said the Department has been active in its mandate as a regulatory agency to enforce absolute compliance to the official price of petrol since December last year.

According to him, some of the major marketers discovered to be diverting the product to the independent marketers have been handed over to security agencies and could have their licences revoked if found guilty.

He urged the motorist to keep patronising the major makers to avoid being shortchanged .

On the rumour that the price of fuel has gone above N145 per letter, the controller affirmed that the department has not been communicated about the development.
