THANKSGIVING: Aare Adam Praises God in Jumat Prayer, Vists Ijo Orunmila
By Wale Abideen,LAGOS/ The Newly installed Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Aare Gani Adams continues his THANKGIVING SERIVICES as he joins worshipers at Ijo Orunmila Adulawo in Ebute Meta, Lagos as part of activities to praise God for the successful hosting of his Installation as the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land.
Adams, who arrived at about 11: 15am, with his wife, children, family and members of Oodua People’s Congress in a convoy of about twenty vehicles.
In his sermon, chief Awodiran Agboola welcomed Adams and his entourage to Ijo Orunmila Adulawo, he described Adams as a symbol of peace, he urged him to continually preach peace and unity across the country.” You are a worthy son and blessing to Nigeria and the Yoruba race as a whole.
We prayed that God should continue to bless you with long life, so that you can fulfill all your dreams in life.
He urged Aare Onakakanfo to appeal to Federal Government to give traditional worshippers more attention and support, he stated that the traditional worshippers have been abandoned and it’s not so in other other countries.
Expressing his appreciation, Adams says I’m here today to worship with you and also to identify with you because my position is purely traditional title but I have to be liberal with the three prominent religions we practised in the country. Last Saturday, I played host to over 70 thousand guests in Oyo, and the event was hitch- free, without complains or casualties, so there is need to thank God for the success recorded at the event. Today, we are going to observe our thanksgiving service with you, here in Ijo Orunmila and tomorrow, we shall also visit the Genesis Global Church, Alakuko, Lagos, to observe the thanksgiving service
Some of the prominent people that joined Adams at Venue were Prince Adeleke Ajala, The DPO of Ebute Metta Division, Leaders of Oodua People’s Congress and Oodua Progressive Union, among others
Adams was installed as the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland last Saturday by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, at an historic event held at the Durbar stadium, Oyo.
Similarly, Aare Gani Adams was last Friday at a special Jumat prayer and thanksgiving service at the Festac Town Central Mosque, Lagos.
Adams, who arrived the mosque at about 1: 40 pm, with his wife, in a convoy, observed the special Jumat service with prominent Islamic Scholars and faithfuls in the state.
In his sermon, chief Imam of Festac central mosque, Sheik Sakariyah Adewale, said Islam is a religion of peace, adding that at the moment, Nigeria is in dire need of peace. Describing Adams as a symbol of peace, he urged him to continually preach and unity across the country.” You are a worthy son and blessing to Nigeria and the Yoruba race as a whole.

As Muslims, we are happy to celebrate your new status with you.”, he said.
Sheik Sakariyah noted also that Adams usually worship in the mosque.
Expressing his appreciation, Adams said he has been worshipping at the mosque for over seven years, particularly, during his birthday anniversaries.
He said the service is the first point of call on his thanksgiving programme, adding that he decided to observe the special Jumat service and thanksgiving mainly to express his appreciation to Allah for making the installation programme a success.”This is the first Friday since my installation as the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland. I am a highly liberal person when it comes to the issue of religion, and as a Yoruba man, I have to be liberal with the three prominent religions we practised in the country.
