Health Security: Mrs. Bello Commissions Health Centre

The first lady Kogi state, Mrs Rashida Bello has commissioned the renovated Model primary health centre Ekinrin Adde, in Ijimu Local Government area, at Ogugu in Olamaboro local government area and Agasa in Okene local government area respectively.

Rashida Bello who doubles as the founder, Kogi Women and Youth Empowerment foundation (KOWEF) said her mission is to ensure that women at the rural area have access to quality health care services.

She said the renovation became necessary as the structures in the area are becoming obsolete with dwindling facilities to cater for the health need of the rural dwellers especially women and children.

She said Yahaya Bello adminstration is determined to improve the primary health care facilities of rural community as well equip it with modern equipments to reduce the migration of the people to urban areas in search of qualitative health care.

Also speaking, various chairmen of the communities as well as their traditional rulers commended the first lady for her initiative to promote the health sector and pray for God’s wisdom to enable her pilot the affairs of the state.

They observed that the exercise embarked upon by the first lady will enable the health care facilities to stand the test of time.

Bello donated drugs, some hospital beds, hospital equipments among others.
