Kogi State First Lady Empowers Women, Youth, Promises to do More
Women and youths in Kogi state have been assured of government’s support to their socio- economic development. Wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs Rashidat Bello gave the assurance while distributions cash and working tools to forty two women from the twenty one local government areas of the state. Mrs Bello said the gesture is aimed at assisting the women and youths to effectively utilise the training they have acquired to improve their condition of living. According to her, the programme is being executed under the Kogi Women and Youth Empowerment Foundation and assured that it will be a continuous exercise. She advised the beneficiaries to make effective use of the items provided to make their life better and as well assist others by training them. In a remark, the wife of the Deputy Governor,Mrs Eunice Achuba urged the beneficiaries to be diligent in their undertakings as their will be proper monitoring by the foundation. Earlier in an address the chief of staff to the Governor, Mr Edward Onoja said the distribution of working tools by the Governor’s wife is to show her love and concern for the masses. Also speaking, the special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Mrs Bolanle Ampitan prayed God to bless the Governor’s wife and advised the beneficiaries to use the items to improve their businesses. Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Rosemary Aduku expressed appreciation for the gesture saying it will assist her in her hair dressing business.
