The Yobe State  Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Thursday said it had deployed personnel to areas liberated from Boko Haram insurgents for the restoration of civil authority.

Dr Muhammad Fari, State Commandant of the corps, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu.

“In compliance with the directives of the Minister of Interior, the command has deployed officers and men to Gujba and Gulani local government areas of the state.

“As I speak, officers and men of the corps are present in all the 17 local government areas of the state,” Fari said.

The commandant said that the corps was working in full cooperation with other security organisations “to give people returning to their communities a sense of security and belonging”.

“The working cooperation among sister security organisations in Yobe is very commendable, we see ourselves as partners supplementing one another,” he said.

The commandant expressed satisfaction with the rate at which normalcy was returning to the liberated communities in the state.

“I am glad to say that our presence in these communities has encouraged more people to return to their communities and engage in agriculture,” he said.

He assured that the command would support smooth resettlement and rehabilitation of all displaced persons relocating to their communities.
