Kogi State  Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has called for an egalitarian society where gender, tribe or religion will not constitute barrier to individual’s success in life.O4

Governor Yahaya  Bello made the call in a message to the Grand Reception in honour of the Kogi State Chief of Staff, Mr Edward Onoja at Ogugu in Olamaboro Local Government Area.

The Governor who was represented by the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Abubarka Ohiare  said he and his cabinet’s members have been an advocate of paradigm shift in politics that will ensure a more united Kogi State.

He urged the people of the state to see one another as one to achieve the rapid development he envisaged at the inception of his administration.O2

Governor Bello assured the people of his commitment to develop all parts of the State and affirmed that every local government area of the state will have a project to credit to his administration.

He promised to renovate the palace of the Ochogwu of Ogugu, Chief Michael Salifu, Ogugu Community Secondary School, the road leading to the community as well as the conversion of the cottage hospital to a General Hospital.

Earlier in a welcome address, Kogi State Chief of Staff, Mr Edward Onoja who urged the people at the event to observe a minute silence in honour of the Kogi State Political Icon, Prince Abubarka Audu, noted that his records of achievement is worthy of emulation.

According to him, Ogugu Community lacked basic amenities that is expects in modern life due to their  disposition to remain in the opposition party all along.

He noted that the present situation is favourable because of the bond between him and the Governor and appealed to the community to be supportive of the present administration.

Mr Onoja urged youths in the area to come up with creative ideas that is in line with his new direction policy and will as well promote good governance adding that everybody cannot be in power at a time.

In their separate remarks, the Administrator of the council, Mr Adejoh Friday, and the Secretary, Mr Joshua Onoja expressed appreciation to those who attended the occasion.

Good will messages were also delivered by the Administrators of Kaba Bunu, Mr Moses Sunday, Yagba East, Mr Ijagbemi Idris and the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Mrs Angela Freeman among others.
