Two Nigerians Arrested in Indian over Fake Qatar Air job

Two Nigerians living in New Delhi, India have been arrested by the Cyber Crime wing of Cyberabad police for allegedly cheating a woman by promising her a job with Qatar Airways.

The duo were arrested on Saturday.

Their victim had last month received an email from qatarhsconsultantjob@gmail.com informing her about a job opportunity with Qatar Airways for the post of assistant manager with a salary of 7,900 pounds.

On the same day, the victim received a telephone call from the two. They asked her to deposit Rs 25,000 in a particular bank account.

“She deposited the amount in the given account and, the same day, she received another email saying that they have deposited 50,000 UK Pounds in RBS and sent to local branch.

”Further, they asked her to deposit an amount of Rs 45,000 in SBI A/c No. 20279674949 of Sumi Holi with IFSC code SBIN0012267. The victim believed and made the payment,” the investigating officers said.

Later, she became suspicious about the job offer and approached police, who in turn arrested Michael James and Umeadi Valentine Chigozie, both residents of Delhi.

Police recovered 52 SIM cards, three laptops, five mobile phones and two data cards from them.
