FMC, Health Ministry Roll Out Free Medical Care For Kogi Residents

The Federal Medical Center (FMC), Lokoja in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health is embarking on a free medical outreach to the less-privileged citizens of Kogi State.
A statement by the management of the FMC in Lokoja stated that free surgical operation will be offered to individuals with eye cataracts and hernia.
According to the statement, free medical diagnosis will also be available for ailments such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, Hepatitis-B, as well as free distribution of eye glasses to those having short and long sight problem.
The statement urged people living in the Eastern senatorial district of the state who are affected by any of the ailments to approach the Kogi State University Teaching Hospital, Anyigba for initial diagnosis before proper treatment in FMC, Lokoja; while those in the Central and Western senatorial districts of the state are to visit Okene General Hospital and Isanlu General Hospital respectively.
It added that medical attention will be given to them till the 18th of this month.
