Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, popular as PEJO is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and politician. He is one of the new brands that represent ‘Not too young to rule’. Very brilliant, jovial, endowed with pragmatic ideas and a unique leadership quality. In this interview with Wale Abydeen, PEJO sheds more lights on his mission in politics and why he wants to be governor of his state, Ondo.
As a young citizen of Ondo State, what informed your decision to run for the exalted position in your state?
I was passionate about Governing Ondo State because I see that things are not done the way it should be done in the state.
As a young entrepreneur with fresh ideas to make Ondo State a great State, I believe I am in the best position to govern the State and eradicate Poverty, unemployment, infrastructural deficits and Corruption in the State.
What’s your assessment of political development in the state since the country returns to civil rule in 1999?
Since 1999 when Nigeria return to democracy, We have not witnessed good developments as we expected, Especially this previous Administration where we pay huge amount of money in Government hospitals, hike in school fees, Bad road networks, Bad power supply to mention but a few, which is the main reason investors won’t want to invest in the State.
Ondo state has been lagging behind and that’s making Prince Eniola Ojajuni to work around the clock for the masses in the State.
What’s your view about the current leadership in your state?
Its quite Unfortunate that the current administration are yet to proved to the people of Ondo state why they are in office because they have not been able to accomplish any good investments policy, their Zero job Creations, Security crisis, Hike in State Tertiary Education Fees,Corruption and so on.
What do you think you want to do differently from what the current governor is doing?
As a young entrepreneur who Has travelled far and wide, my priorities are Job creation, Encouragement of the Educational Sector like reducing some state University tuition fees like Adekunle Ajasin University – Akungba Akoko, from 150,000 to 42,000 which would come to reality if ADC is elected to the government house.
Every sector in Ondo State will be Subsidized whereby making Ondo State a SMEs friendly and productive State.
I am going to create 500,000 jobs by bringing 200 foreign industries  that will invest in different local government in the State, by doing this, youths in ondo state will be busy doing one job or the other that will sustain them and curtail the effects of migrating to other Big cities & becoming productive to them instead of their home state.
What’s your view about the finances and anti corruption drive in the country especially as regards to Ondo State?
The current administration is imaginary in the sense that the government doesn’t care about the masses and i am not surprised because the government is full of corrupt leaders.
We need to fight corruption by eradicating the corrupt  leaders first and accepting fresh ideas and a very experienced youth who is ready to work for the State.
Which party are you launching your ambition and how popular is the party in Ondo State?
I am contesting under the platform of African Democratic Congress(ADC), i have been in the party for couple of years now. I  joined the party because I understood Everyone in the party has a common goal of developing and giving back to the society. ADC is full of Energetic youths who are ready to Work for the masses selflessly.
Do you have fear of intimidation, rigging or manipulation of the electoral process either by INEC, police or power of incumbency?
I am not afraid of rigging of election in Ondo State because I know that God almighty will surely have my back and fight for me since I put my trust in God and I have no intention of cheating during the election & don’t forget that the masses are also awake, they want good leadership!
What’s your strategic game plan or strength as you are not a money bag politician, giving the position of money in our politics?
Money politics has been in existence for a while now and it only causes more suffering in the community.
I also want to Urge the masses to support my vision and ideas of better Ondo State and say no to Money politics, it’s time we do away with stomach infrastructures!
What’s your advise to the residents of Ondo State as you approach another gubernatorial election?
My advice for the people of Ondo State especially youths is to stay away from Money politics, fighting and insults on the media. I want to urge them in all communities to come and Support me, my vision of promoting Ondo State and let me achieve my Manifestoes.
Youths will have upper hand in my cabinet (75%). Youths with business Ideologies, entrepreneurship ideas, technocrats and the Entertainment industry will also be encouraged.
Our government shall be that of progress, investment, good economic policies and that which would eradicate Hunger!
