Fati Baffa Bararoji is one of Kannywood’s pioneer actresses, who earned her nickname “Bararoji” from a film where she played the lead role and has been in the industry more than 15 years ago.

Her contemporaries in the Kano based Hausa entertainment industry are; Ali Nuhu, Fati Muhammad, Maryam Hiyana, Yakubu Muhammad, Sani Musa Danja, Biba Hauwa Dodo, Ibrahim Mandawari, Alhassan Kwale and host of orders.

Some of the above mentioned actors and actresses have either left the industry, some are dead, while others like Ali Nuhu, Ibrahim Mandawari, Sani Musa Danja are still active in the industry.

Fati Baffa is one actress that one will not say has benefitted much from the industry.  First she was heartbroken by a Katsina based singer “One (Boda)” who had finished all arrangement to marry her but ended up spending the night in Kano where Fati lives and wedded the following day without telling this beautiful actress.

Fati Bararoji, very short and attractive, is now into restaurant business. Unfortunately, Fati’s fans woke up yesterday to read stories trending in the social media that Fati Bararoji had an accident and later died in a hospital. This has thrown her fans into confusion with most of them even travelling to Kano to attend the burial which was fixed for 4pm last Monday.

When our correspondent visited the family house of Fati Bararoji located in Fagge Quarters, she was the very person that came out to receive our correspondent and to dispel the rumor that she died in an accident.

Below is the encounter between our man in Kano,  Aliyu Askira Kanoand Fati Baffa Bararoji

Am I seeing a ghost because it is all over the Social Media that you died in an accident?

That is why I personally came out to receive you for you to see me in person and inform the world appropriately that I am not dead.

Is this your personal house, family house or your husband’s house?

That is the problem with you press people, you prefer to hear that there is an accident and hundred people died in the process so that it will give you headline, whether I am married, single or live in my own house, you are one of those to know because you have been reporting from Kano for more than 10 years, by the way, I thought you will first congratulate me that I am still living.

Sorry about that, but what actually happened?

Well, as you are aware, I am an actress, I am also into other businesses, the last time I can remember you came to my restaurant on Zoo road to eat so  I am a busy person and travels a lot.

If people reported in the Social Media that Fati travels a lot, I will not mind, but why should somebody carry a fake news that I died in an accident and even announce the time that I will be buried. This is wicked and uncalled for, but there is this common saying that if you had a dream that you died or somebody died, there is the possibility that you or that person will live long, so, this is a sign that Fati Bararoji will live long.

Are you married now?

There you go again, I am very much available if you are interested, or pray for me to get somebody very decent and religious to marry me, I was heartbroken some years back by a fellow colleague in Kannywood a singer based in Katsina, the truth is, I still love him and we relate very well but he is happily married now, since you are not interested in knowing what actually happened, then I want you to use your medium and tell my friends all over Africa that I am alive.

What exactly do you want me to tell your fans specifically?

Tell them you visited our house and you saw me very much alive.
