MEMORANDUM PRESENTED AT KWARA NORTH YOUTH UNITY SUMMIT HELD ON SATURDAY 27TH APRIL, 2024 AT MORO LGA SECRETARIAT, BODE SA’ADU.
Courtesies,

Ladies and gentlemen, respected Chairman of the occasion, distinguished guest speakers, special guests, esteemed programme planners, and journalists, I acknowledge and observe all protocol.

In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Today marks a significant milestone in the history of the KWARA NORTH GUBERNATORIAL PROJECT (KNGP) 2027.

Throughout the political process of governance in the Fourth Republic, the people of Kwara North Senatorial District (Baruteen, Kaima, Edu, Moro, and Patigi) have played a crucial role in the successful election of governors to date.

The purpose of today’s event is to showcase to the world that our Senatorial District is overdue to produce a governor in the upcoming 2027 general election. We firmly believe that this message has been heard, and we have faith that the dream of the KNGP 2027 will be realized, by the grace of God.

It is imperative to note that Moro LGA has been perceived to be a minority LGA in Kwara North and our plight should be the centre of discussion of the realization of Kwara North UNITY AGENDA.

Love, peace and understanding are ingredients to lay a solid foundation for Unity in any giving communities.
Moro LGA is the headquarters of Kwara North and the center that connects other 4 LGAs together and should not continue to be a venue for only political gatherings and political jamboree. We should also enjoy the beauty of democracy by representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency and the Senatorial District at the National Assembly as well as getting juicy Federal political appointments like Minister, Ambassador and Head of Federal Parastatals like other 4 LGAs (Baruten/Edu/Kaiama and Patigi) respectively.

We want to sincerely appreciate our teaming energetic vibrant young Kwara Northerners for providing us a level ground through this Unity Summit to discuss and address the grey areas of our UNITY. Indeed they are agents of peace, progress and bridge builders in Kwara North.

For record purposes, let us examine the areas of our concern as people of Moro LGA. Political power has always been a machinery that propelled growth and development of any society. It’s important to note that since the return of democracy in 1999, Moro LGA has not been opportune to produce a Representative of her federal constituency and the Senator of our dear Senatorial District at the National Assembly or appointed into any federal juicy political appointments.

The overview of the analysis below shows how Moro LGA, the acclaimed headquarters of the senatorial district has been marginalized over the years by her brethren.

EDU/MORO/PATIGI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.
EDU LGA
1999 – 2007
2019 – 2027
PATIGI LGA
2007 – 2019
MORO LGA

KWARA NORTH SENATORIAL SEAT
PATIGI LGA
1999 – 2003
BARUTEN LGA
2003 – 2011
EDU LGA
2011 – 2019
KAIAMA LGA
2019 – 2027
MORO LGA
NIL

MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT
PATIGI LGA
1999 – 2003
BARUTEN
2009 – 2011
2023 TILL DATE.

AMBASSADORIAL APPOINTMENT
KAIAMA LGA TWO TIMES
PATIGI LGA TWO TIMES

The above analysis shows how Moro LGA has been politically disadvantaged in terms of political positions sharing in Kwara North. ” One who has no ambition has nothing. And also freedom is a natural right of every man”.

In line with the above quote, Moro LGA is interested in producing either the next Governor of Kwara State in 2027 or the Senator of Kwara North at the National Assembly, In Sha Allahu. Those are our interests come 2027 and we’re respectively appealing to our people from Baruten, Edu, Kaiama and Patigi LGA to support Moro LGA in the realization of any of the two positions as Moro project in 2027 to promote EQUITY, FAIRNESS AND JUSTICE among ourselves as one entity.

Thank you all

God bless Kwara North
God bless Kwara State
God bless Nigeria.
