AASG LAUDS KWARA GOV. ABDULRAHMAN OVER COMMITMENT TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS
The AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq Support Group (AASG) in Kwara State has extends it’s heartfelt appreciation to Kwara State Governor, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, the Chairman of Nigeria Governor’s Forum for his unwavering commitment to democracy as demonstrated through the announcement and the readiness of the State Government to conduct the Local Government Area Council Elections in Kwara State.
The commendation was contained in a press statement sent to SECURITY MONITOR and which was signed by Abdullahi AbdulRauph AbdulSalam

The group said following the announcement by the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) scheduling Local Government Elections for September 21, 2024, across all 16 Local Government Areas, it is evident that this decision aligns with the collective desires of the people of Kwara, underscoring Governor AbdulRazaq’s responsiveness to the people aspirations.
According to the group, “In the spirit of fairness and inclusiveness, KWASIEC must conduct its activities in strict adherence to the law, thereby allowing all political parties to adequately prepare and participate. By doing so, we can ensure that this election stands as a testament to integrity and credibility, setting a benchmark for future electoral processes in the state”, AASG said.
It added that “as the current administration places a premium on gender equality and women’s participation in governance, AASG encourages our esteemed Women in politics to seize this opportunity to actively engage in the electoral process by contesting for Chairmanships and Councillorship positions at the grassroots level”.
AASG charges all aspirants to be committed to peaceful and issue-based campaigns, devoid of any form of violence or undue influence. Let your agendas and programs resonate with the needs of the people, demonstrating your capability to effect positive change at the grassroots level.
“As we approach this crucial election, it is incumbent upon all stakeholders most especially party leaders to desist from moneybags politics and uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and transparency. “The party flag bears in the coming local government elections should not be determined based on the highest bidder. Political leaders at various local governments are advised not to see the nomination processes as money making ventures. Let us collectively reject any attempts to undermine the peaceful electoral process and hold our aspiring leaders accountable for their actions. In doing so, we reaffirm our commitment to building a society founded on the principles of good governance and ethical leadership, ensuring a legacy of success and development for generations to come” AASG concluded.
