Bishop Kawinga Brings Hope to Hunger-Stricken Mchinji Communities

In a heartwarming display of compassion and generosity, Bishop Clifford Kawinga, founder of Salvation for All Ministries and owner of Creck Hardware, has donated maize to 4,000 households affected by hunger in Mchinji district.
The donation comes at a critical time when many families in Mchinji are struggling to access food due to severe hunger and drought.
The situation has been exacerbated by the failure of the maize crop, leaving many households without a steady supply of food.
Speaking in an interview after the symbolic handover of bags, Kawinga said he had the opportunity to sit down with block leaders and discuss his motivations for the donation and his thoughts on the current situation in Mchinji.
“As a servant of the Lord, I am compelled to respond to the cries of the hungry and the vulnerable. When I heard about the situation in Mchinji, I knew I had to act,” he said.
He said that he believes this donation will bring hope and relief to the people of Mchinji.
He further added that: “It will help them to survive this difficult time and give them the strength to continue.
“I want to assure them that they are not forgotten. We care about their well-being, and we will continue to support them in any way we can.”
In his remarks, Group Village Headman, Zulu in the District has commended Kawinga saying many families are struggling to find food, and some are even going to bed without eating.
He said: “It will help us to survive this difficult time. The maize will provide food for our families, and the Bibles will bring us spiritual comfort.
“We need to find ways to improve our agricultural production and to diversify our crops. We also need to have better storage facilities to preserve our harvest.”
One of the beneficiaries, 76-year-old Gabina Ignasio from Zulu village, expressed her gratitude to Bishop Kawinga for his kindness.
“We are struggling to survive, and this donation has brought us hope,” she said.
In addition to the maize donation, Bishop Kawinga also distributed Bibles to the community and offered prayers for the affected families.
The gesture was seen as a symbol of hope and reassurance that they are not forgotten.
Bishop Kawinga’s donation serves as a reminder of the urgent need for support and intervention in communities affected by hunger and drought.
As the situation continues to worsen, it is imperative that individuals, organizations, and government agencies come together to provide relief and support to those in need.
