We are Shocked Gov Abdulrahman Could Packaged Bogus Lies Before House of Assembly – Kwara PDP
The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed shock and disappointment at Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s presentation of fabricated achievements and lies before the Kwara State House of Assembly.
In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the party described the Governor’s action as yet another episode in his administration’s unending parade of falsehoods to deceive Kwarans.
The party said the Governor’s false claims of sponsoring over 66,000 Kwara children for entrance examinations, 58,420 for BECE, 28,500 for WAEC, and 27,000 for NECO is a gross disrespect to the Assembly and the entire people of Kwara State.
“For a Governor to stand before the Kwara House of Assembly and reel out such fabricated data without shame demonstrates an alarming level of disrespect he has for the Assembly and the intelligence of Kwarans. The fact that ministry officials have confirmed these figures as ‘manufactured lies’ speaks volumes about the Governor’s Juvenile-packed cabinet and reveals that those running affairs of Kwara lack the capacity or competence to deliver any good governance.
“This is not the first time Governor Abdulrahman has been caught misrepresenting facts. Last year, he falsely claimed improvements in school enrollment in Kwara during a side event at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) despite data showing that the number of out-of-school children in the state had skyrocketed to 68% between 2019 and 2022.”
The Kwara PDP demands Governor Abdulrazaq apologise to Kwarans for shamelessly lying to them while urging him to desist from the unholy act of reeling out false performance claims and fake promises that have become the forte of his administration.
The party also criticised the Yakubu Danladi-led House of Assembly for failing to hold the Governor accountable for his actions and failure to summon relevant ministry officials to answer for the fabricated statistics presented to them
“This is a stark reminder of how the House has allowed itself to be reduced to a mere rubber-stamp institution, bound by an unholy alliance with the Governor, thus abandoning its legislative responsibility to the people of Kwara,” the party said.
“While we commend the people of Kwara for their courage and continued perseverance in the face of this administration’s incompetence, we urge them not to place any trust in Governor Abdulrazaq. As we approach the new year 2025, Kwarans must prepare for more lies and deceptive claims that will be emerging from this government but also ensure they are punished with rejection in 2027.”
