POLICE ARRESTS SUSPECTED RITUALISTS AND ARMED ROBBERS IN KEBBI.

On 4th February, 2025 at about 1900hrs, one Bello Abubakar ‘m’ of Koko town, conspired with Jamilu Bello, Safiyanu Bello, Usman Inda all ‘m’ and Idrisu Yauri now at large, and deceitfully collected the sum of Two Million, Twenty Five Thousand Naira ( # 2, 025, 000:00) from Shamsu Adamu ‘m’ with a promise to print Thirty Million C F A for him. When they demanded for more money and he could not meet up, he was asked to bring a child for sacrifice or else, he will face a wrath for disobeying them. In view of that, he brought his daughter named Amina Shamsu ‘f’ aged 4yrs 6months.

Based on credible intelligence, a team of Policemen attached to Koko Divisional Police Headquarters immediately mobilized to scene and arrested the suspects on the process. Consequently, one calabash, white clothes, black clothes, three bottles of local perfume and charms were recovered from the scene as exhibits.

Similarly, on the 9th February, 2025 at about 2000hrs, one Abubakar Muhammad ‘m’, a commercial Motorcyclist was conveying two passengers namely Abdullahi Bello and Jamilu Adamu to Unguwar Mairago village in Birnin Kebbi LGA. On reaching a Sandy area, while on transit, the cyclist slow down. Suddenly, four people appeared with sticks and knife, and started beating them. As a result, they shouted for help which alerted the Police Officers at a nearby check point to respond promptly to the scene and successfully apprehended one Bashar Abdullahi and Babangida Hassan, all ‘m’ of shiyar zabarmawa area, Birnin Kebbi. A knife was recovered from them as exhibits, while the remaining two suspects took to their heels.

In the light of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani had commended the promptness of the Police Officers in arresting the suspects and charged others to emulate them by always being vigilant and ready to response to distress call while on duty.

He equally directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department to intensifying efforts to track down the two fleeing suspects and ensure diligent investigation and prosecution on completion of investigation.
