ENHANCING CAPACITY: Bauchi Police Completes 3-Day Training For 60 Officers

By Olayiwola Ibrahim // In alignment with the vision and policies of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, which emphasises professionalism, efficiency, accountability, and the expansion of the Police Force beyond traditional law enforcement roles, the Bauchi State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Muhammed, psc, Anipr, has successfully completed a comprehensive 3-day capacity-building training program for 60 officers.

This training was conducted in collaboration with Fimihan Adeoye Security Consult and took place at the Police Officers’ Mess in Bauchi.

The program focused on critical topics, including the analysis of statutory police duties, appropriate use of force and firearms, fostering inter-agency collaboration, and the implementation of effective police patrols aimed at enhancing crime prevention and detection.

During the closing ceremony, AIG Fimihan Adeoye, PSC (+) (Rtd) and CEO of Fimihan Adeoye Security Consult, expressed confidence in the enthusiasm and engagement demonstrated by the participants throughout the training.

He emphasised their preparedness to apply their newly acquired knowledge in their duties, which would significantly enhance their professional roles.

(Rtd) AIG Adeoye also acknowledged CP Muhammed’s commitment to advancing the command’s human resources through invaluable training initiatives.

In his remarks, CP Auwal extended his sincere gratitude to the Fimihan Adeoye Security Consult team, led by (Rtd) AIG Fimihan Adeoye, for facilitating the program. He reaffirmed the Bauchi State Police Command’s dedication to ongoing collaboration with the firm to further develop the skills and capabilities of its officers.

He articulated an optimistic vision for the training, expressing hope that it would provide participants with unique insights to enhance their professional capacities.

Furthermore, CP Auwal announced plans to extend similar training programs across various levels of the command, underscoring the commitment to continuous capacity-building for all ranks within the force.
