The courtesy visit, which held at about 1200hrs, served as a platform to deepen inter-agency synergy and reinforce collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Justice and the Nigeria Police Force.
Discussions during the interactive session focused on enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Administration of Criminal Justice System (ACJS) in the State, with emphasis on addressing procedural challenges in investigation and prosecution. Both agencies expressed a firm commitment to uphold the rule of law and improve timely dispensation of justice.
In line with national and international obligations, the meeting also underscored the urgent need for a more coordinated response to violence against women and vulnerable persons. The Ministry and the Police Command reiterated their resolve to adopt survivor-centered approaches and ensure accountability through diligent prosecution under the relevant provisions of the ACJL and VAPP Act (as domesticated in Cross River State).
This engagement marks a significant step towards building a safer and more just society through collaborative policing and prosecutorial integrity.
