IGP EGBETOKUN COMMENDS LAGOS POLICE COMMAND, LAYS FOUNDATION FOR LEGACY PROJECT
By Morris Nor// The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun has commended the Lagos State Police Command for its exemplary performance and administrative excellence, during a historic visit to lay the foundation for a new conference centre named in his honour.
The ceremony for the “IGP Adeolu Olukayode Egbetokun Ph.D., NPM Conference Centre” took place at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, marking a significant step in the IGP’s vision for a modernized Nigeria Police Force.
In his address, IGP Egbetokun praised the Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, for its commitment to operational efficiency and discipline. He highlighted the Command’s efforts as a benchmark for others to emulate, emphasizing that such dedication is crucial for building a more responsive and technologically advanced police force.
“The Lagos State Command has shown what is possible with commitment and innovation, I urge other State Commands across the Federation to replicate this zeal for infrastructural development and professional excellence.”. the IGP stated
The forthcoming conference centre is conceived as a world-class, multipurpose facility designed to be a strategic hub for high-level security deliberations, inter-agency coordination, and capacity-building programmes.
The Lagos Police Spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi in a statement disclosed to Nigeria Police Radio in Abuja said the conference centre will host policy engagements, press conferences, and training sessions, equipping officers with skills that meet global policing standards.
The project is seen as a testament to IGP Egbetokun’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the institutional frameworks of the Nigeria Police Force and leaving a legacy of improved infrastructure for future generations of officers
