TNM Malawi addresses temporary system glitch.

TNM Malawi Plc has issued an apology to its customers following a temporary system glitch that occurred during an upgrade of its popular Mpamba mobile money platform on November 7, 2025.
In a statement, issued by the company, the error which was quickly detected and resolved, led to the 370GB data bundle being charged at lower rates than intended.
According to TNM, the issue emerged as engineers implemented a major upgrade aimed at improving the speed, reliability and overall user experience of the Mpamba service.
“During this transition, a system fault briefly affected data bundle pricing, allowing some customers to purchase the 370GB package at reduced rates,” reads statementin part.
A statement furthersaid, TNM reassured its customers that despite the glitch, all user accounts and personal data remained secure.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this temporary error,” the company said.
“Our technical team acted swiftly to identify and correct the issue. We value our customers’ understanding as we continue working to enhance our platforms for better efficiency and convenience.”
The mobile network operator emphasized that the ongoing system upgrade is part of its long-term strategy to improve digital financial services and connectivity for Malawians across the country.
TNM encouraged customers with any queries or concerns to contact its Call Centre or visit the nearest Service Centre for assistance.
“We are grateful for the patience and loyalty of our customers as we refine our systems to serve them better,” TNM added.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, assuring users that the upgrade will ultimately deliver a faster, more secure, and user-friendly Mpamba experience.
