By Olaywiola Ibrahim // History will not forget Prof. Kunle Buraimoh for taking it upon himself to sponsor brilliant Osogbo indigenes throughout their university education.

As usual, Prof. Buraimoh has once again shown his unwavering commitment to education and community development.

He has taken up the case of Adeniyi Goodluck Ope, a brilliant but financially challenged young boy who graduated from Fakunle Comprehensive High School, Osogbo.

Goodluck scored 330 in the last UTME and has been offered admission to study Medicine and Surgery at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Prof. Kunle Buraimoh has added this young scholar to the list of Osogbo indigenes under the K.B. Foundation Scholarship Scheme, promising to sponsor his tuition throughout his stay in the university.

It is worth noting that I did not know this young boy personally.

I discovered him through our annual UTME programme, where he emerged among the top scorers in the screening test.

It is also important to highlight a few other Osogbo indigenes currently benefiting from the K.B. Foundation Scholarship:

1. Abiola Badmus – 400L, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Obafemi Awolowo University.

I contacted Prof. about his case three years ago when his parents, unable to afford his education despite his 334 UTME score, wanted him to learn a trade.

2. Hammed Moruf – Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University. After scoring 306 in UTME and gaining admission, he sadly lost his mother, who was the family’s breadwinner. Prof. stepped in to support him.

3. Adeniyi Goodluck Ope – The newest beneficiary, admitted to study Medicine and Surgery.

I am certain that there are many more Osogbo indigenes whose lives have been transformed through the generosity of the K.B. Foundation.

Indeed, Prof. Kunle Buraimoh has written his name in golden letters in the history of Osogbo.

How I wish we had just a few more philanthropists and selfless indigenes like him.

Service to humanity is service to God.”
May Almighty Allah reward you abundantly, Prof. Kunle Buraimoh.
