•One year after plane crash
Mary Chilima, the wife of the late Saulos Klaus Chilima who served as Vice President of Malawi says she continues to mourn her husband’s death, describing it as painful and incomprehensible.
Writing on her Facebook page, Chilima expressed her ongoing grief saying: “One year, five months and sixteen days and we still mourn you Saulos a painful death. An incomprehensible death. Ahhh.💔”
In September last year, Mary Chilima also posted on her Facebook page asking well wishers to support efforts to conduct an independent investigation into the plane crash, saying she wanted to know the full truth.
This request came even after aviation accident experts from Germany had earlier concluded that the aircraft crashed after striking a tree.
Saulos Chilima, who was also the leader of the UTM Party, died in the tragic crash alongside eight other people.
The accident occurred in the Chikangawa Forest in June last year and shocked the entire nation.
