Man jailed five years for defiling 14-Year-old girl in Neno

A 25-year-old man, Chauluka Dzimbiri has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of defiling a 14-year-old girl with a mental disability in Neno District.
The incident occurred on October 2 this year when Dzimbiri lured the minor to his house where he sexually assaulted her.
Neno Police spokesperson Sergeant Rabecca Msoliza said the State represented by Constable Ramsey Naluso presented four witnesses whose testimonies proved crucial in securing the conviction, especially after the accused initially denied the charge.
Passing sentence, First Grade Magistrate Margret Khobiri said the five-year custodial sentence was meant to serve as a deterrent to others who may contemplate committing similar offences.
Dzimbiri hails from Chauluka Village under Traditional Authority Ngwenyama in Neno District.
