Renowned Malawian Amapiano artist, Temwah Gondwe popularly known as Temwah formally Spotless has won widespread admiration after choosing community service over personal accolades by skipping the Zikomo Awards in Tanzania to support learners at Madzi Academy School a rural institution along Mchinji Road.

The award winning musician said her decision followed a recent visit to the school, where she observed that many learners drop out of school not due to lack of ability, but because of low motivation, limited encouragement and scarce opportunities.

Her visit coincided with Madzi Academy’s end-of term Christmas celebration which turned into a historic moment for the school.

For the first time since its establishment two learners were selected to secondary school, a milestone that brought excitement and renewed hope to the school community.

To celebrate and support this achievement, Temwah donated MK1.3 million toward the school’s needs and presented two bicycles to the learners proceeding to secondary school to help ease transportation challenges.

Speaking during the event, the artist expressed a strong personal connection to the area and pledged continued support to the school, saying she hopes to inspire learners to believe in their potential and pursue education with confidence
