By Olayiwiola Ibrahim // Lagos // Daru Na’im Academy for Sharia Sciences of Nigeria recently held its 17th International Conference at Radisson Blue Hotel, Ikeja, focusing on “The Jurisprudence of Sound Creed (Fiqh al-‘Aqīdah) and Contemporary Challenges”.

The event brought together prominent Islamic scholars, government officials, and traditional leaders from across the globe to address pressing issues facing Muslim communities.

Key discussions centered around promoting sound Islamic creed as a foundation for social stability, moral order, and peaceful coexistence.

Professor Abdulmojeed Rasaq Alaro emphasized that Islam is the oldest constitution guiding humanity, organizing people from diverse faiths, tribes, and ideologies.

Hon. Justice Kamaldeen Abdullateef highlighted Islam’s role in shaping the world, urging that it be seen as a religion of peace, love, and unity.

He advised that, proper understanding, knowledge and wisdom of preaching what the scriptures (QURAN) says is very paramount in order not mislead Muslims all around the world.

Sheikh Imran Abdulmojeed Eleha, Chairman of Daru Na’im Academy, called on the government to support such events, showcasing Islam’s educational value and combating misinterpretations.

Eleha also condemned acts of violence perpetrated in the name of Islam, stating that perpetrators have ulterior motives and are not true practitioners of the faith.

The conference aimed to bridge gaps among young Muslims and promote a correct understanding of Islamic teachings.
