Zomba Police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying two unknown men who were seriously injured in a road traffic accident and are currently receiving treatment at Zomba Central Hospital.
The appeal was made by Zomba Police Station Public Relations Officer, Patricia Sipiliano who said the accident happened in the early hours of January 5, 2026.
Sipiliano explained that the crash occurred around midnight near My Place Lodge within Zomba District.
4. According to Sipiliano, a passenger motor vehicle collided head on with an unregistered motorcycle that was carrying two people.
She said the impact of the collision left both the motorcycle rider and the pillion passenger with severe injuries.
Sipiliano reported that the two men sustained deep cuts to their foreheads and fractures to their right arms.
She added that as of the last medical update, both victims were unconscious, making it difficult for authorities to establish their identities.
Preliminary assessments indicate that the injured men are estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old.
She further described them as light skinned and slim in appearance, but noted that no identification documents were found on them at the scene.
Police believe the men may be residents of nearby areas and are urging family members, friends, or colleagues to come forward.
“Anyone who recognizes the description or has missing relatives matching it should report to Zomba Police Station or visit Zomba Central Hospital,” Sipiliano said.
