Mponela Police Station has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening information sharing between police officers and community policing structures in Mtengowanthenga Trading Centre.

The assurance was made by Mponela Police Officer in-m Charge, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mwizamose Nyoni, during an official visit to the area on Tuesday.

ACP Nyoni met officers from the Mtengowanthenga Police Unit, alongside community policing members and traditional leaders from surrounding villages.

She further called for a cordial working relationship between police officers, chiefs, and community policing members to enhance safety in the trading centre.

Speaking on behalf of the local leadership, Group Village Head Pondapo welcomed the visit and expressed appreciation for the continued police engagement with the community.

He said such interactions help build trust and encourage residents to work closely with law enforcement officers.

Confirming the development, Sergeant Macpatson Msadala, Public Relations Officer for Mponela Police Station, said the visit reflects the station’s ongoing efforts to promote partnership-driven policing and improve security within the area.
