DAY TWO OF 2026 NATIONAL POLICE DAY: LAGOS POLICE COMMAND HOLDS WALKATHON TO PROMOTE PUBLIC TRUST AND SAFETY

By Olayiwiola Ibrahim // The Lagos State Police Command continued its 2026 National Police Day celebrations today, Tuesday, 31 March 2026, with a walkathon aimed at promoting peace, enhancing police visibility, and strengthening public trust and safety across Lagos State.

The walkathon started at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja GRA, and proceeded along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way with the Police College Ikeja, covering approximately 4 kilometres.

Senior officers, Area Commanders, and personnel of the Lagos State Police Command attended the event.

The initiative reaffirmed the Police’s visible presence in communities and assured residents of their accessibility and responsiveness in ensuring public safety.

Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, emphasized that the Police are always within reach and encouraged public support and partnership in maintaining peace and security.

He urged residents to share concerns, assuring prompt and professional addressing of issues.
