By Olayiwiola Ibrahim // The Lagos State Police Command has withdrawn the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) from traffic control and enforcement duties, effective immediately.

Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, directed the move to streamline traffic management operations and ensure professionalism, accountability, and clarity in duty discharge.

While the Taskforce’s traffic-related responsibilities have been withdrawn, its other duties remain unchanged.

The Command urges the public to verify personnel identity before making allegations, noting that the Taskforce isn’t the only one operating in Lagos.

The Police Command reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, ensuring all operations align with the law and best practices.

The public is encouraged to cooperate with legitimate security agencies.
