The recent, heart-wrenching reports of renewed xenophobic violence in South Africa—where the sweat, blood, and legitimate businesses of our brothers and sisters are being reduced to ashes—must serve as a final wake-up call to every Nigerian living in the diaspora.

Solidarity with the Victims:

Engr. Obi Njoku stands in deep solidarity and facilitates with every Nigerian victim of these senseless attacks. To those who have lost their livelihoods, been displaced from their homes, or are currently living in fear for their lives: we feel your pain. It is a tragedy of the highest order that well-meaning Nigerians, who spent decades building businesses and raising families, are being hunted like criminals. Our hearts go out to you as you face the terrifying prospect of returning to a homeland you fled, often with nothing but the clothes on your backs.

A Call to an Indifferent Government:
We demand that the current Nigerian government finally rise to the occasion. It is not enough to issue “deeply concerned” press releases from the comfort of Abuja. The government must move beyond toothless diplomacy and take decisive action to protect the lives and assets of our citizens.
The primary duty of any government is the security of its people, whether at home or abroad. The failure of this administration to create a strong, respected nation is why our citizens are treated with such disdain globally. We call on the Presidency to immediately facilitate the safe evacuation of those who wish to return and to demand full compensation from the South African authorities for every Nigerian business looted or destroyed.

The Illusion of the “Greener Pasture”:
Today it is South Africa; tomorrow, it could be any other nation. You can build for twenty years in a foreign land, only for a mob to destroy it in twenty minutes. The dignity of the Nigerian person is tied to the strength of the Nigerian state. We cannot continue to be a nation of economic migrants. If we had joined hands to build a Nigeria that works—with stable power, security, and a fair economy—our citizens would not be targets of hate in Durban or Johannesburg.
A Call to Action for the Diaspora:
Engr. Obi Njoku urges all Nigerians abroad to “key into” this reality. This is the time to stop looking away.

1. Invest in Change: Your remittances must now fund the liberation of your home country.
2. The Election is the Key: With the election season upon us, we have the chance to install a credible candidate who will make Nigeria a place people run to, not from.
3. Home is the Only Shield: We must build a future for our children right here. No amount of “Japa” can replace the security of a functional, sovereign home.

Our Position:
Stop running. Start building. We have a credible candidate ready to make Nigeria work for all. Let the fire in South Africa ignite a fire of patriotism to reclaim our country. If we do not fix Nigeria now, we will eventually have nowhere left to run.
