ZONE 2 POLICE, INTERPOL NAB CANADA-BASED SUSPECT OVER ₦150 MILLION BURGLARY CASE
By Ibrahim Olayiwola/LAGOS// The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has announced the arrest of a suspected Canada returnee, Olushola Ajayi Joshua, in connection with a burglary and stealing case involving properties valued at over ₦150 million.
The arrest followed a painstaking investigation by detectives of the Zone 2 Criminal Investigation Department, supported by the Nigeria Police Force INTERPOL Unit. The suspect, who allegedly fled to Canada after the crime was reported in July 2025, was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, upon his return to Nigeria after his passport had been flagged through INTERPOL collaboration.
AIG Jimoh described the arrest as a testament to the strong synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and INTERPOL, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to ensuring that no criminal finds a safe haven, regardless of location.
The Zone 2 Command remains resolute in its mission to combat crime, uphold justice, and ensure that offenders are brought to account for their actions.
