DIG Ishaku Mohammed, CP Ahmed Sanusi Carried Out Operational Tour of FCT

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP (Prof.) Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, PhD on Friday, 26th June, 2026, received the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Training and Development (DTD) and representative of the North Central Geo-political Zone, DIG Isyaku Mohammed, PhD, during an operational visit and tour of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.

The visit, according to FCT Police Command Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh which was held at the Command Headquarters, was attended by very senior officers of the Command, community stakeholders from across the Federal Capital Territory, and officers and men of the FCT Police Command Headquarters.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP (Prof.) Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, PhD, FCAI, warmly welcomed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police to the nation’s capital and appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for his firm commitment to strengthening policing through effective supervision and continuous operational assessment. He highlighted recent operational achievements of the command, underscoring the Command’s commitment to professionalism, community partnership, and the implementation of the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+)., NPM.

In his address to officers and men of the Command, the DIG disclosed that the visit was in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, to undertake an operational tour of all State Commands under Zone 7. He explained that the tour was aimed at assessing the prevailing security architecture, inspecting operational systems, evaluating ongoing policing strategies, and making informed recommendations that will enhance operational efficiency and support the development of more effective policing policies across the Zone.

The DIG charged officers and men of the FCT Police Command to remain civil, disciplined, and professional in the discharge of their duties while diligently implementing the policing directives of the IGP in line with international best practices of Policing. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, respect for the rule of law, accountability, and sustained commitment to quality service delivery for all residents of the Federal Capital Territory.

Community stakeholders from across the FCT commended the Inspector-General of Police for his continued efforts towards strengthening policing nationwide and expressed appreciation for deploying the Deputy Inspector-General of Police on the operational assessment tour. They noted that such engagements promote collaboration between the Police and the communities they serve, while providing an avenue for constructive dialogue aimed at improving public safety and security.

The visit featured an interactive session between the Deputy Inspector-General of Police and officers of the Command, as well as community representatives, during which critical security concerns, operational challenges, and strategies for enhancing effective policing within the Federal Capital Territory were discussed. The engagement concluded with a group photograph to commemorate the visit.
