INSECURITY: Tambuwal Wants More Hands In The Police, NSCDC, Others

By Kayode Adeyemo// The Sokoto state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has called on the President, Mohammadu Buhari, to intensify security measures by recruiting more personnel for security agencies, noting that this will make Nigerians will feel safe, and anywhere they are in the country.
Tambuwal made this call on Friday, in Bauchi. The Governor stated that, without security, no meaningful progress will be made in the country, adding that the country is under policed.
He lamented the state of insecurity in the North West and other parts of the country, adding that deliberate efforts must be made by both the federal and state governments to bring the situation under control.
He suggested that more personnel are needed to increase the number of security agents like Police, Army, Navy, Air Force, NSCDC and other agencies by recruiting more qualified Nigerians who are presently roaming about without any means of income.
The Governor, while accepting the fact that the world has gone digital, suggested that the country harness the power of information technology, with which it could be used to combat terrorism, adding that the country is blessed with some of the best brains that can make it happen.
Tambuwal, who is also the chairman of the PDP Governors forum, urged Nigerians to be security conscious, and report any suspicious activity to security operatives.
