Kano Anti-Graft Agency Recovers Gov’t Vehicles from Kwankwaso’s Son, Four Others
Wuddeama Manga// The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has recovered several government-owned vehicles from five former commissioners, including the son of former Kano State governor, over alleged failure to return official property after leaving office.
The recovery operation, carried out on Thursday in Kano, followed what the commission described as repeated directives from the state government instructing the former officials to hand back vehicles assigned to them while in office.
Among those affected is Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports and son of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Others from whom vehicles were retrieved include Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar (Rtd.), former Commissioner for Security; Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata, former Commissioner for Science and Technology; Dr. Adams Aliyu Kibiya, former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs; and Hon. Nasiru Sani Garo, former Commissioner for Special Projects.
Chairman of the commission, Sa’idu Yahaya, said the action was taken after administrative measures to secure voluntary compliance failed. He maintained that the recovery exercise was in line with the commission’s mandate to safeguard public assets and ensure accountability in governance.
According to the commission, the vehicles have since been returned to government custody. The development is part of ongoing efforts by the Kano State Government to enforce compliance with asset-return policies among former political office holders.
