A non- governmental organisation, the Victims of Violence Charity Foundation, Kwara State branch, has expressed its resolve to bring succour to the victims of the recent clash between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Oro-Ago, Ifelodun Local Government area of the state.
The NGO pledged to utilise it numerous contacts to ensure that the both parties are assuaged and a lasting solution is found to the perennial farmers/ herdsmen clash in the area and Nigeria at large.
Speaking at a joint meeting between farmers and herdsmen in the community, at the weekend, the Leader of the team, Honourable Bolakale Oloje, urged the both parties to live in harmony.
Oloje, who emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers, added that the country’s economy needs the activities of the both to grow.
Also speaking, Comrade Odunjo Adio, intimated the community of the mandate of the foundation, stating that the charity organisation in the state is determined to bringing succour to victims of violence in whatever form in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Oro-Ago community, the Olooro of Oro Ago, Oba Jonshon Olanrewaju Dada, thanked the NGO for sharing in the pains of the community and added that ever since the attacks, the agricultural activities of the community dwellers have been drastically affected.
“Our people now live in fear, owing to fear of being attacked; it has affected economic activities in the community and most people who rely on farming to eke a living are finding it very hard to survive. We only wish a lasting solution is found to guide against future occurrences, “ he lamented.
