In a bid to promote environmental preservation and sustainability, students from Pentecostal Life University (PLU) in collaboration with Total Land Care (TLC) have organized a tree planting exercise.
The event, scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024, will take place at Masumba village, T/A Chitukula’s area in Lilongwe.
In an interview with Monitor Security, Incumbent Student Union President Clement Magombo emphasized the importance of giving back to the environment.
“The tree planting initiative is our way of showing appreciation for the environment that provides for us.
“We recognize the significance of conservation and sustainability, and we are committed to playing our part,” Magombo stated.
Magombo further explained that the exercise aims to bring balance to the ecosystem and mitigate the effects of climate change.
“As future leaders, we understand the importance of taking care of our environment. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact and create a sustainable future,” he added.
The tree planting exercise is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by PLU students to impact the lives of people in surrounding areas. By engaging in such activities, students are preparing themselves for future responsibilities and demonstrating their commitment to making a positive difference in their communities.
