According to Mangochi Police spokesperson, Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi, the suspects were apprehended over the past weekend during a joint patrol by forestry officials and police officers.

The suspects are facing several charges, including illegal entry into a protected forest without a permit.
They are also accused of unlawful tree cutting, illegal charcoal production and possession of charcoal without authorization.
Police say the suspects will be taken to court once all investigations have been completed.
