TENSION AS SUSPECTED THUGS INVADE ONDO ASSEMBLY AMID SPEAKER’S IMPEACHMENT

Tension reportedly gripped the Ondo State House of Assembly on Thursday morning as suspected thugs allegedly invaded the Assembly premises amid the ongoing impeachment proceedings against the Speaker, Hon. Olamide Oladiji.

According to some Assembly staff, the suspected thugs were allegedly brought in from Ondo township, the constituency of the embattled Speaker.

The men were said to have moved from one office to another without any clearly stated purpose, raising concerns among workers within the Assembly complex.

A staff member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, alleged that it took the intervention of a member of the Assembly, Olajide Oguntodu, alongside other lawmakers and security personnel, to eventually dislodge the suspected hoodlums from the premises.

The development has further heightened tension around the unfolding leadership crisis in the Ondo State House of Assembly.OndoAssembly
