Police arrest man for cannabis possession

Police in Mzimba have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of possessing cannabis sativa locally known as Chamba without a licence.
Deputy police spokesperson for Mzimba, Precious Mzunga, identified the suspect as Daniel Banda.
Mzunga said Banda was arrested on Tuesday during a police roadblock at Jenda.
According to police, the suspect was found transporting cannabis weighing about 87 kilograms in a motor vehicle traveling from Khonsolo District Council area to Lilongwe.
Mzunga added that the suspect is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges related to the offence.
