LIONS CLUB EXTENDS HANDS OF CHARITY TO ANAWINS ORPHANAGE HOME IN GWAGWALADA
Lions club is the largest international service organization in the world with branches in 207 countries and over 1.4million (one million four hundred) membership participants spread abroad the world.
At the early hours of 15th, December 2016,the club visited Anawins Orphanage Home in Gwagwalada area council Abuja,and donated a whole lots of food items and cooking materials worth millions of naira as to aid the welfare of the children.
The management of Anawin Orphanage home expressed gratitude in dept stating that the donation is at its very right time and God indid have sent the lions club to come to the aid of the children in the home as situations was getting extremely out of hand specifically in the aspect of feeding of the children.” We also use this opportunity to appeal to other charitable organizations to imitate the lions club that the world may be a better place for the poor and less privileged. This act that the lions have exhibited today have given the children a sense of recognition and belonging as part of Nigerian citizens,we appreciate and wish the lions club long live and her members”.
One of the children spoke with happiness and appreciated the lions for her effort to bring what they have brought for them to facilite their feeding.
The spokes man of the club’s team Mr.Lion Okonkwor Jude expressed delight stating that ,giving and helping out citizens in the society is the key pleasure that the club derives. “The priority of lions club is to better lives and put smiles on the faces of the less priviledeg,victims of disastars,and victims of other needy situations”.
The club, whose part of activities is to ameliorate the scourge of hunger worldwide is also saddled with charitable responsibility of carrying out projects to support her immediate community on the local level while internationally, the club is charitably ever ready with passion to render helping hands to individuals,communities and even nations who may be displaced by disaster of all kinds. ” we were in Kogi state during the fload disaster in lokoja and the club rendered assistance to the victims worth millions of naira.We were also in Japan and several other countries that time might not permit me to mention”.
Mr. Jude further disclosed the lions main concern “Our major concern is preservation of sight and that is why our slogan is “Sight first”,this means we are focused at reducing preventable blindness as much as possible by conducting free eye screening,donation of medicated eye glasses to those who need it,caterate surgeries and other related eye surgeries”.
