Kwara Students Visit Gov. Ahmed, urge him to end Strike in Oro College of Education

The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), has passed a vote of confidence on the state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.

The vote of confidence was passed on the governor on Monday at a Press Conference organised by the body.

The National President of the Association, Mr. Abdulafis Oyedepo, said the decision to pass the vote of confidence on the governor came as a result of his giant stride in attending to the requests and maximum attention to the association at any point in time for dialogue.

The students called on the state government to ensure adequate welfare of the entire over 1.2 million members.

They also asked for 50 percent discount on transportation to their members studying outside the state when resuming back to school through the state owned transportation company.

The students also charged the state government to quickly intervene in the ongoing strike action in the college of Education Oro and other colleges of education affected.

They demanded that the state government approve the bursary for them sooner than earlier promised having noticed the increment in the state allocation of the month of July as they prayed for subsequent increment.

The association appreciated the state governor for his exemplary leadership style, concern and readiness shown to them to attend to their yearnings and aspirations during a dialogue held at the government house recently.

They pledged their maximum support in the attainment of a better Kwara of their dream.

The students also showered praises on the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, the chief of staff, Alhaji Abdulwahab Babatunde and the Special Adviser to the governor on Labour Matters, Mr. Bisi Fakayode
