LUMBADZI POLICE ENGAGE MOSQUE COMMUNITY TO ENHANCE SECURITY

As part of efforts to ensure public safety, Lumbadzi Police Station held a meeting with the mosque community at Lumbadzi Central Mosque on January 3, 2025.
The gathering focused on crucial issues affecting the community, including crime prevention, gender-based violence, and road safety tips.
According to Constable Josophine Ndamala, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Lumbadzi Police Station, the meeting aimed to foster collaboration between the police and the community to combat crimes and road accidents in the area.
Superintendent Vincent Kachitsa, Lumbadzi Station Traffic Officer, emphasized the importance of partnership between the police and stakeholders, including churches, mosques, and other religious groups.
He appreciated the existing partnership between religious groups and the police at Lumbadzi, noting that it is crucial in preventing crimes and road accidents.
Kachitsa stressed the need for road safety, urging Muslims to be responsible road users.
He advised against using open vehicles during trips and emphasized the importance of wearing crash helmets and using roadworthy vehicles and bicycles.
Sub Inspector Francis Kakhobwe Phiri encouraged Muslims to report cases to the police promptly, assuring that Lumbadzi Police values partnerships with residents in fighting crimes and providing security support.
Sheikh Ishaq Lifa thanked the police for their visit and promised that Muslims from Lumbadzi Central would continue working with the police to combat crime and road accidents.
