EX- PRESIDENT JONATHAN CALLS OUT THE LEGISLATURE, EXECUTIVE AND THE JUDICIARY, SAYS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ACTING LIKE DICTATORS

By Olayiwola Ibrahim // Former President Goodluck Jonathan criticized the Nigerian government, accusing officials of acting like dictators and abusing their power for personal gain.
He warned that Nigeria cannot progress under a dictatorship, citing the political crisis in Rivers State as evidence.
Jonathan specifically accused government officials in the executive, legislature, and judiciary of:
Abusing power: Using their positions to serve personal interests rather than upholding justice and democratic values.
Undermining democracy: Refusing to uphold justice and democratic values, and instead using their power to suppress opposition and manipulate the law.
Eroding trust: Abusing power across all levels of government, eroding trust in democratic institutions and making it difficult for Nigeria to attract economic growth and social development.
Jonathan called for a return to true democratic values, urging officials to put the country first, even when it’s inconvenient.
He also emphasized the need for fairness and justice in governance, rather than systemic inequalities and manipulation.
